THE number of girls getting pregnant and leaving school at 16 has soared since a rise in benefits to teen mums, it emerged yesterday.
A shock study has estimated an extra 45,000 babies were born to poor teenage mums in the year after Government rules were changed.

Although I was the person who brought the action, it was, in effect, on behalf of all those of us – well over half the population – who wanted our say in a referendum. (more…)

“I think it is a shameful indictment and it needs to be changed,” said Romford MP Andrew Rosindell, who is chairman of parliament’s all-party Saint George’s Day Group.
“We must be the only country in the world that spends nothing or virtually nothing on celebrating its national day. It is a great pity.
“There needs to be a change in the culture of Government in the way it approaches something like this”

A JUDGE yesterday blasted “barking mad” human rights rules which allowed a drug dealer to stay in his cosy cell rather than appear in court.
Heroin smuggler Amir Ali refused to leave his cell at HMP Camp Hill on the Isle of Wight for an appearance at Lewes Crown Court because he was afraid of losing it to another prisoner.
Judge Richard Hayward said: “I didn’t know prisoners could choose whether or not to come to court. I just assumed they would be scooped up by a burly prison warden and dumped in the back of a van.
“Now I hear this prisoner is refusing to leave his cell and no-one’s doing anything about it. Once again, it’s down to barking mad human rights rules.” (more…)

Waging war against plastic bags
EVEN the Prime Minister has a view on a tax or ban on plastic shopping bags. And even more stores begin charging for them.
My simple answer is make the manufacturers build in a shelf life of 12 Months after which the bag starts to disintegrate – or is this TO SIMPLE.
